Name: Kurosawa, Shigure
Year: First
Age: 16
Birthday: 20th of June
Gender: Male
Height 169cm
Club: none yet

Personality:

Shigure is a very hot tempered young man. He got great anger issues, and is easily pissed off. He’s provoking without really intending to be so, and has a bad habit of throwing a tantrum over the smallest things. He’s violent without actually meaning to be so, and as he got wide arm movements and a very active body language, it is not rare that he punches someone by accident because of him flapping his arms around while talking with too much energy. He’s very bold and blunt, and is not always able to tell when people are being sarcastic. He prefers if people speak their mind directly instead of trying to hint to an opinion or a thought. He tries to appear as a very open person, but in reality he is very introvert, which often shows, making him seem either shy or just cynical and rejective. He doesn’t mind talking to others – as a matter of fact he loves being social, but he does not wish to really involve anybody in his personal life and his personal issues. Towards girls he can be slightly awkward, as he doesn't quite know how to communicate with such mysterious human beings..

At the bottom base, Shigure is a good boy thou. He cares for what other people think, and if possibly avoidable, he don’t want to hurt anybody for good. He’s very much against bullying, and isn’t afraid to stand up for his friends if they got trouble with one of that kind. He also smiles a lot and laughs a lot, but besides happiness, the only other emotion he can really express is anger. When feeling down and sad, he becomes aggressive, so often he will end up misunderstood because of his lack of expression possibilities.  In the end it is caused by the way he was taught as a child to ‘hold it back’ and keep everything in. He was not allowed to tell about the horrible things he experienced, which up till today still affects him. He doesn’t trust grown-ups much, and is in general having a problem with people telling him what to do. He doesn’t like being exposed in front of other people – and will always cover up his body, refusing to change clothes in the same room as someone else, refusing to join swimming class as well.

He’s having a hard time sleeping from time to other, as nightmares are haunting him still, and while he tried to stay positive, he is in general quite pessimistic. He wants to get the best out of life, but often his negativity keeps him from fully living. He takes a while to really warm up to people and to let them close, but seeing as he really wants to have some friends, he tried so keep an open mind as much as it is possible for him.

HOWEVER: When you first meet him, he will be shy. very shy; overworrying about what others might think of him, and incapable of having much trust in himself. He warms up over time, and his true colors starts showing.

History:

Short version:
Shigure was born in China, and originally named 'Ning'. His parents were bad parents, and due to childabuse did he run away from home. He managed to flee the country to Japan where he was taken care of by the system and placed in a foster care family. He stayed here for 3 years until he had a violent tantrum, attacking a boy who had hurt his new older sister from the family he had been given. he was then moved, but is still home by his new family in the weekends.

Long version: (don't read if you don't care for dramatic background stories )
Shigure wasn’t always named Shigure. His firstname given by his mother and father, was “Ning”. Shigure is born in China, where he lived the first couple of years with his parents in the country side. The marriage between the parents was arranged, very much against the will of the father, as he had been so much in love with another woman.

Shigure’s mother was aggressive and far from as beautiful as the other woman, but they both followed the words of their parents. Only a small year later, Shigure, or “Ning”, was born. The first couple of years, everything would be fairly normal. The father was satisfied with having a son, and Shigure didn’t appear to be of much more trouble than any other kid would be. Things however changed when Shigure started going to school. He got bullied and mocked on by the other students, as they found out he got one hell of a temper when they provoked him. He was easily distracted in class, and in general his marks did not appear as good as the parents had hoped.

The father was furious, and when scolding his son, he saw his wife in him. - The ugliest side of his wife; the aggressiveness, the temper, the tantrums.

The little family didn’t get along well, and as the years passed by, the bitterness only grew bigger. The father had an affair with the woman he loved, and the mother had an affair with another man as well. Shigure never really got much attention from his parents, and it tore in the 7 year old. Whenever he threw a tantrum, his father would just lock him up in the basement after hitting him just once.

That was all to change one cold winter night. The mother was visiting her parents, (or so she said) and Shigure was home alone in the big, old house. The grandparents on the father’s side were out for a dinner together, and the father? He was out with his woman. But she had told him that their affair had to stop. Her husband had found out, and as she did love him as well, she did not want to leave him. This sent Shigure’s father into a furious, depressive state of mind. So as the clock had passed midnight, he would return home. He was drunk and mad, and as he found Shigure, who had fallen asleep on the couch, would suddenly become the victim of this anger.

He experienced violence and abuse that no child should ever have to face. It changed something in the, at this time 8 year old boy. He never spoke to a soul about it, and thought it wouldn’t ever happen again. Ashamed of himself would he start closing even more up. He didn’t want to play with the other kids at school, nor did he wish to talk to new people he didn’t already know. Things would continue like they had done up until that night for the next half year, but then it happened again. - This time without as much violence, but something even worse than the first time.

As the months passed, and things kept happening, Shigure found himself more and more torn apart. It wasn’t an everyday thing, but he did fear it every evening when he had gone to bed, and was laying in the dark room. The mother did not know – not before Shigure were at the age of 11. It happened that she was returning home one evening, earlier from work than what she had said she would, and heard noise and crying from the basement. As she walked down to check what was going on, she too knew about this secret. But all she did was to turn around, head back up, and kept her mouth shut. She would cry at night, just like Shigure did.

But things were once again to take a sudden turn in his life. At the age of 12, he heard his father talk on the phone, as he a dark night had left his bed to go to the bathroom. When he passed the office of the father, he stopped by the voice. Silently did he move closer to the door, pressed his tiny ear against it to listen. The father was inviting someone over for the upcoming weekend where the mother would be away. And as Shigure heard what their plan were – including him, he made the decision that would change his life for good.

As if he had heard nothing, he would head to the bathroom, and back to bed. But he didn’t sleep. He waited for hours until he was sure that the father would have fallen asleep. Then he packed a small backpack with only the most important; which were a small amulet from his grandmother, a set of clothes and some food from the kitchen. He stole money from the drawer besides the sink, and would in the dread of the night disappear from the home.

He walked for hours all up until sunrise, when the first bus came around the area. He spend some of the stolen money to pay for a ticket, and rode it to the nearest city. Here he spend a day or two, just trying to figure out a way to escape even further. His head was one big mess, and he felt it as if his life was ruined into small pieces.

A big container ship was leaving for Japan from the harbour in the city, and Shigure somehow managed to sneak on as a blind passenger.

When he was found in Japan, he had been walking the streets for 10 hours. Nothing seemed to make sense to him here, and he didn’t understand a word at all. He was starving and tired, broken inside to a level which shouldn’t even be possible. But he wanted to live.

The day he was found, was the day where he first met Yukiro. He had been found by an elder lady, who had brought him to an office in the city run by the government, to handle all sorts of issues; also this. But no one understood what this young guy said, and they could barely get him to even speak. Yukiro; a charismatic younger grown up would be called in. He was able to speak Chinese as well, and worked as a translator in this case. Shigure however refused to tell them his name, nor where he came from. All Yukiro could get out of him, was that he had run away from home. The many bruises on his body from the beating by his parents spoke the rest.

Some days passed where Shigure was taken care of at a hospital, checked if he had any serious injuries or illness, before the people, who he soon would be to call parents, would take him in. They had started the organization that would handle cases with abused children, and as they found out this boy had been placed in their facility, with no parents, no siblings, no nothing, they decided to take him home.

Shigure wouldn’t talk, and he didn’t want anybody to get close to him. He was aggressive and filled with so much hate to the world. But the couple also had a daughter; Arisu. She was 3 years older than Shigure, and somehow she managed to get to him. As he one day had a great tantrum, she would help him to get the anger out by giving him the possibility to go nuts and let it all out on a boxing bag.

The two of them grew close by time, and Shigure would start feeling better a little by little. He took classes to learn Japanese, and was actually quite fast and good at learning. After 3 years he spoke it fluently – more or less - sometimes with a bit of difficulties remembering difficult words, but he could communicate without much trouble. He felt safe in this new little family, and the trust to grown-ups would slowly start developing once again. He still had nightmares about his past, but he never spoke it to a soul.

But after those 3 years, things were to take another turn. A boy had broken Arisu’s heart more than anything, and as she told Shigure about it, he went on a rampage and beat the guy up so badly, that he ended at the hospital. Shigure was placed charge on, but dragging him to jail for it, wouldn’t do any good. He would only become worse, and with the knowledge about his past that they had gotten so far, they decided that a bit of discipline would be better for him.

He was taken away from the loving family he had gotten – however he would still be allowed to visit them during weekends. His new home would be at no one else than Yukiro’s. He hadn’t seen the man for 3 years, and the bratty little kid whom Yukiro remembered, had now grown into a troublesome teenager with one hell of an attitude problem.

But despite the trouble this young guy threw at Yukiro, they somehow managed to get a special connection. Yukiro were still fairly young, being in the middle of his 30ies, and when he was younger, he too had been a bit of a rebel. He somehow understood Shigure better than anybody else had done so far – even more than Arisu. He allowed him to dye his hair and get piercings - figuring if that if he so wanted to rebel, it was better to allow him this, than to see him sneak out and start doing other stupid things. Time fled, and by the age of 16 Shigure was confident enough in his language to start on a regular highschool. He would however have to take extra classes, seeing as he was behind other students at his age.
